Description

In this incredible edit from Tyler Fernengel’s new Red Bull video, the BMX rider takes on Detroit’s abandoned Silverdome. The backdrop is staggering and the footage is excellent.

The location has meaning for Fernengel as well — he grew up in Greater Detroit and spent his youth attending pro sports games in the city.

He also raced there. From RedBull.com:

I was 3 years old [when I first went to the Silverdome]. And I had just gotten my first dirt bike. It may have been the first race I ever did my Dad entered me in the amateur supercross races held at the Silverdome; amateurs would compete the day before the pro supercross. I raced there every year until I was 10 years old.

Fernengel turned pro at 16 after web footage was discovered of him.
